Snow Canyon - Fernley Invitational Nov. 4th and 5th Delta/Richfield Meet Nov. 11th and 12th

Friday Nov. 4 - Warm up at 3:00p.m. and Meet starts at 4:00p.m.

Saturday Nov. 5 - Warm up at 8:00a.m. and Meet Starts at 9:00a.m.

Bus will go down each day- leaving CHS parking. 

Friday leave @ 1:45p.m. and Saturday leave @ 6:45 a.m.

600 swimmers will be in attendance to this meet so please plan to bring extra sweats, jackets, towels, blankets because we will set up a place for our team outside on the lawn.  Friday may be cold outside, 

but Saturday in the sun will be warmer.  

Bring a lawn chair or pillow and blanket to lay on the lawn.

PARENTS - Coach wants us to help provide items to eat and drink since meets both days will go long.

Friday Nov. 4 will not finish until 8:00p.m.

Saturday Nov. 5 will not finish until 3:00p.m.

I have someone bringing drinks but need more snacks including fruit.

or send food with your swimmer.  

If you plan on sharing food items 

you need to plan on about 40 swimmer.

If your swimmer does not want to carry treats to school and on bus,

 bring to pool Thursday and Mitchell Brown will pick up.

Nov. 11 Meet in Delta then travel to Richfield to sleep in Motel.  

Please pay your $21.00 for Motel to CHS office.  

Nov. 12 Meet in Richfield.  Do not know arrive home time.

Super News-Work Outs Will Not Alternate

Thank you to the efforts of the parents who attended the school board meeting on Tuesday or sent emails to board members.  The practice schedule will remain the same for the swim season.   Cedar work out at 3 to 5 p.m. at the Aquatic Center. Canyon View will be allowed to finish out this years season using SUU swimming pool.  The Superintendent said what was important -"The two high schools need to share the pool (Aquatic Center), and that has always been the plan, with SUU only serving as a temporary home for the Canyon View High School".  At the board meeting the following problem was discussed but no solution given.  The new aquatic center was not build with competitive swimming in mind.  New Aquatic Center is smaller than our old pool facility that had two pools (25 yard covered during winter, and 25 meter indoor). The Aquatic Center only has one eight lane 25 yard pool, that is too shallow and with terrible starting blocks.  As a parent, swimmer, and community member I  am grateful to have a new swimming pool, and did feel very sad that many in attendance at the board meeting did not share that same appreciation.  School Board member Harold Haynie stated "we cannot rebuild the pool but must deal with what we have"  I would encourage swim parents to continue to attend board meetings and stay in touch with school board members and city council members to help come up with ideas of how to deal with what we have.

It is a large meet with over 600 swimmers.  We need some help with food, treats, and drinks for the swimmers.  We will set up a couple of easy-up canopies outside the pool on lawn for our team.  Parents please sign up for any of the following items by emailing ljb1@live.com. 

ORANGES, BANANAS, GRAPES, GRANOLA BARS, CRACKERS, SIMPLE SANDWICHES(small), WATER, GATORADE. (other suggestions from your swimmer)

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TUESDAY OCT. 25 @ 5:00PM

CANYON VIEW Swim Team Parents want to make  CEDAR HIGH parents aware of public meeting being held at the conclusion of the School Board Meeting.  5:00 pm Tuesday October 25 - District Building on Royal Hunt Drive.  At the meeting a group of Swim Team Parents are presenting their concerns about the new work out schedule at the Cedar Aquatic Center.  Anyone is welcome.  The plan for now is the two high schools will share Aquatic Center.  Cedar High will have early work out on "A" day (3 to 5pm) and late work out on "B" day (5 to 7pm). Tuesday October 25 @ 3:00 ("A" day)

New Work Out Schedule will Begin on Tuesday October 25

Canyon View Swim Team will be sharing the Aquatic Center for work outs starting TUESDAY October 25.  The Aquatic Center manager wanted to wait until then to iron out scheduling problems.  Practice will remain at 3:15 to 5:15 for NEXT 2 weeks.
October 25 is an A day so CHS swim team will meet at 3p.m.
A - Day CHS 3 to 5 p.m.
B - Day CHS 5 to 7 p.m.

School Fee Paid at CHS Office

Students who have not paid their activity fee at CHS front office, please do ASAP.
The $30.00 is written to Cedar High School and can be given to Debbie Slaugh.
