Suits will be handed out next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday November 5,6,7, after practice @ 7:00p.m.

IF HAVE NOT HAD A PHYSICAL THE FORMS CAN BE FOUND ON THIS BLOG - SCROLL TO BOTTOM WHERE YOU WILL FIND THE ARCIVE AND GO TO AUGUST POSTS.

Under Friday August 2 you will find a link that will take you to the form A for first time athlete, and form B for returning athletes. 

Practice Mandatory - Attendance Important

With first swim meet just 2 and 1/2 weeks away coach is reminding swimmers how important it is to be on time and attend 90% of work outs.  

Coach feels team will do well this year, and is excited about how many swimmers we have.  He is impressed with how many have worked hard to get better and made great improvements. 

On Friday November 8 the bus leaves at 12:30p.m. It is a "B" day and you will be missing the last 45 minutes of 3rd period and all of 4th period.  Please think ahead and talk to your teachers, making arrangements for missed class time. 

On Saturday November 9 the bus will leave early approximately 6:30a.m.

SWIMMERS NEED TO RIDE ON THE IRON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT BUSSES.  IF PARENTS WANT TO TAKE THEIR CHILDREN HOME AFTER THE MEET, THEY MUST SIGN A WAIVER FORM FROM COACH COSTON, AND ONLY THE PARENTS CAN TAKE THEIR CHILDREN OFF THE BUS FOR RETURN TRIP HOME. 

The boys and girls will be separated on the bus.  Girls will be in the front and boys back with coaches in the middle rows.

Team Captains

Coach Coston would like to let parents know his policies for Team Captains.
He wants the swimmers input and so they will help elect captains on Nov. 5
Coach want to have a Senior Boy and Girl Captain and a Junior Boy and Girl Co-Captain.

He will go over with the swimmers the qualifications for the captains. 
Captains need to be supportive of the coach, and encourage swimmers to follow practice directions.  The captains will be the coach's liaison with the swimmers.  Captains need to attend all practices, and swim meet.  They will assist in set up and take down at meets.  Captains will follow and encourage all swimmers to follow district and school policies including GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP.  Captains will encourage, and CHEER FOR ALL SWIMMERS AND PROMOTE TEAM SPIRIT.

Volunteers

Parents we need some help for our first two swim meets

November 8 and 9 is the Fernley Invitational. 

 Dixie/Snow Canyon - Sand Hollow Pool

There are over 30 teams there.  There is not room around the pool for the teams so they set up out on the lawn.  We need some tents, and/or easy up canopies.  We also know the swimmers can not leave the pool for dinner on Friday night, and on Saturday the swimmers have to leave Cedar very early and  need breakfast or brunch.  We are looking for parents to help bring the following to the pool on Thursday November 7 or have to Leah Brown home by Friday morning.  I  will have boxes and coolers with ice to transport items to the pool
NEED THE FOLLOWING

3 - Easy ups and maybe tarps to place on ground

Food and Drinks for 40 to 45 swimmers
~Cases of Water bottles
~Cases of Gatorade
~Snack food like crackers,  grapes, cut up oranges, granola bars, fruit snacks.

Money for purchasing dinner and breakfast
~$5 to $10 dollars or what you can donate for pizza Friday night (NEED A PARENT TO GO RUN AND GET PIZZA AROUND 6:00 AND BRING BACK TO THE POOL)
~$5 to $10 dollar or what you can donate for muffins for Saturday morning
