For Overnight meet, Only 2 bags or less are allowed, we have 1 bus. No Chairs. Bring Money for 4 meals (about $12 each meal) $48. Water bottle and lots of Snacks. 2 suits, 2 caps, 2 goggles.

Fernley Meet 2022

Our First out of town meet this Season! We will be at the Utah Tech Pool in St. George (Dixie), Parents are welcome to come watch. 

Location: Utah Tech University at the HPC Pool; 291 S 700 E St George, UT 84770

Swimmers must ride the bus down with the team both days, then if traveling home with a parent, a parent must sign them out with a CHS Swim Coach. I will have a clip board at the pool. Parents if you would like to time show up at 3:30pm and pick an empty chair behind the blocks. 

Friday: November 4th

Load Bus at 12:20 at CHS in Parking lot. 

Warm-up at 2:15pm Lanes 1-3

Swim Meet Starts at 4:00pm

Events (#1-8): 200 medley relay, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free

Bring: a chair, food to eat (we will not be stopping for food after the meet on Friday). Pack in swim bag 2 team caps, 2 pairs of goggles, team suit and extra suit just in case, towel, healthy snacks, water bottle, and electrolytes & medicine if needed. 

Load bus when swim meet gets done, head back to CHS about 9:00. I will send out a remind when we leave the pool. 

Saturday: November 5th  -Bring $12 for lunch if riding home with the team.

Red & Gold Week Practice schedule 17th-21st, 24th week, & Halloween

It's Red & Gold week!! Some ask what is red and gold week? This is the week we get to know the other swimmers and have a little fun during practice while working hard! We will split the team up into a red team and a gold team at the afternoon practice on Monday. You will get points for the effort and hard work your team puts in. On Thurs we will declare the winning team!!

Monday only 3:15-5:15pm

Tuesday only 3:15-5:15pm

Wednesday, 5:30-7:10am ; 3:15-5:15pm

Thursday only 3:15-5:15pm

I understand that this schedule may not work for everyone and some like coming to the evening practices at night, we will have the evening practices again on Oct 25th.  Just do your best to come to as many practices that you can, and to stay in shape during the fall break. Our first meet is next week!!

Practice the week of the 24th we will have normal practice schedule, no practice on friday 28th. The Swim Meet will be at SUU on October 28th, be at the pool at 3 pm. 

Halloween day practice we will only have 5:30am practice, no afternoon practice! They close at 1:00 that day.

• $16.00 per swim cap. Every New Swimmer needs to buy 2 caps.

Overnight meet is Dec 8th-10th ( 2 nights), The swimmers that will be going are Varsity and JV Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Please let me know if you are not able to go to the overnight meet. We will have Varsity time trials Oct 13th (3:15 or 6:30pm)

• Hotel Fee $60.00 per swimmer- Paid by Thurs Oct 21st to the front office or online.

All fees are paid to the front office at CHS with Lori Stubbs or online CHS website.

When most of fees are paid then I will pass out the suits and caps at practice. Please take a picture of receipt and send it to me. The suits will hopefully be here before our first meet, other items may take a little longer. Team store items I will send out a message when they come, it may be November.

Don't forget all those that have not turned in a sports physical and completed register my athlete will not be added to the roster and will not be able to compete, turn in to the front office ASAP. Thanks!

Richard Coston (Swim Coach)

 Richard the Coach that Started The Cedar High School Team and Icat Swim Team. 

(Coached in Cedar 1981-2019) 

We are grateful for all that he has done, and the lives that he has touched.

When he was teaching a swimmer he would do so with examples related to experiences that he had throughout his life, he didn’t lecture, he taught. I was fortunate enough to cross paths with him through coaching both a local community team for the youth and by assisting him in the coaching efforts of the Cedar High Swim Team.  The time he spent growing programs that served our youth have created a foundation that programs today have built on. Aug 22nd Pre-Season Swim

 We will start swimming August 22nd 3:00-5:00 at the Aquatic Center, just for those that were on the team last year. 

All new swimmers have to wait until tryouts on Sept 26th.

There are several forms to fill-out and read.  Athletes are also required to pay swimming fee to the high school, and have a physical turned in.  There is a form on the website to print out and take with you to your doctor.  You will not be allowed to practice until this has been done.  PLEASE GO TO THE ABOVE LINK FOR REGISTER MY ATHLETE .  Register for your sport (boys or girls swimming)  read and e-sign the forms.  Pick your state and School. 

Print off the "HEALTH EXAMINATION FORM" and take it to your doctor to fill out.

4A State Swim 2022

Every Swimmer that qualifies for State will need to pay the front office $26.00 for the Hotel, and bring the receipt to Megan during practice by Thursday.

All Swimmers need a Picture ID to be able to get on the pool deck. 

Friday Load the bus at 8:45am at CHS,  The Team is staying at the Hampton Inn in Provo, UT. Hampton Inn Hotel Address: 1511S 40 E St 

Students are excused from classes on Friday. They will need money for 4 meals. Breakfast is provided at the hotel.

Athletes, Coaches, Officials and all meet personnel only need to wear masks, they don't need to show proof of vaccination or to be tested prior to the meet.

ALL spectators must show proof of vaccination or a negative test 72 hours prior to the start of the meet.

(Parents)Admission to State Meets 

Prices for admission are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, with a service charge per ticket, per session. All ticketing will be available through GoFan, with links on the UHSAA website. 

UHSAA pass holders must show picture I.D. at the Smith Fieldhouse ticket window to receive a wristband for admittance. Passes are non-transferrable. The Smith Fieldhouse is found across the quad from the Richards Building Pool and the ticket booth is on the north side of the building. 

Reserved seating is not available. Doors will open 1 hour before the start of each session. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Patrons are not allowed to save seats. The facility will be cleared after each session. 

A separate ticket must be purchased through GoFan for each classification session. Only ticketed patrons will be allowed admission to the balcony for seating

Participants, spectators, and fans must adhere to the UHSAA State Event Guidelines as outlined in the UHSAA Handbook. Part of the restrictions at state swim meets include no artificial noisemakers, air horns, bull horns, megaphones. 

● Banners, hand-held signs and balloons are NOT allowed at State (See UHSAA Handbook)

We need parents to help time at the meet. Sign-ups for timers are on the spreadsheet that was sent out by remind. In addition we need donations of food, drinks, and snacks for timers, officials and coaches.  Donations can be brought to practice during the week, we need fresh fruit and vegetables, variety of snacks that are easy to pass out, and breakfast items for Saturday, drinks most like water, diet sodas, Gatorade, etc.
